The Victorian Government is proud to present the ‘Go for your life’ Festival of Cycling incorporating the conclusion of Premier's Active Familes Challenge at Albert Park on SUNDAY, APRIL 20.

The "go for your life' 30 Minute Challenge has been developed to encourage all Victorians to get on their bike and challenge themselves, with the option of raising valuable funds for the Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation.

The 30 Minute Challenge is what you make it!

Challenge your mates, your work colleagues, or just yourself. Set a goal and if you like, “get sponsored” for the distance you ride. Not only will you enjoy the feel good effect of physical activity, you’ll be riding on the traffic free Albert Park road circuit, maybe even alongside some of cycling’s best.

The ‘Go for your life’ 30 Minute Challenge is a unique and fun new cycling challenge. Maybe your looking for a recreational cycling challenge, or there is a little competitive spirit among your cycling group. All you need to do is set yourself a goal and enjoy the ride. School’s Challenge:

Register as a school group and see how many kilometres your school can ride. A plaque will be presented to the school covering the most kilometres per student numbers, and the school that raises the greatest amount of funds for the Blue Ribbon Foundation.

There’ll also be heaps of 'Go for your life’ spot prizes on offer.

So round up your classmates, start training and looking for sponsors!

Why not add the extra challenge and ride to support an excellent cause. Set yourself a realistic distance goal, download the Sponsor Pledge Form and ask your friends, teachers, family, co-workers to sponsor you for evey kilometer covered or for every kilometer over your target distance.

The 'Go for your life' Festival of Cycling will see a wide variety of cycling events being conducted throughout the day, providing the opportunity for elite, club, and corporate competitors, in teams or as individual riders, to challenge each other, or themselves on the Albert Park circuit.

Families, schools and recreational cyclists are also encouraged to participate in the 'Go for your life' “30-Minute Cyle Challenge”, providing the unique opportunity of riding on the traffic free Albert Park road circuit,

If you are not into cycling, why not take a 30 minute stroll around the lake to join in the "Premier's 30-Minute Challenge".

In addition, a range of family entertainment and events involving, children’s activities, displays, expo’s, fitness, wellness and environmental education will be featured.

FESTIVAL LOCATION:

The Festival activities will take place on Oval No17, which is located behind the Sports halls ( Pit Buildings) on Aughtie Drive. Prefered entry from Clarendon St, or Canterbury Road at Armstrong Street, Middle Park light rail stop. No 130.

ROAD CLOSURES:

Aughtie Drive wil be closed to traffic between Lakeside Drive (South) and the Carousel Restaurant, between 6:00 am - 5:00 pm.
